Critters. They’re everywhere. Everywhere I tell ya. Crawlin’ on their bellies slithering and crittering around—like critters do. Bah. I see them through my window. And I can’t stand them. If they get close enough, then I’ll shoot. Blow them to pieces. Blow them all to critter pieces. Every last one.
Living in the city I should expect them. Expect to see them outside my window at all hours—scurrying like rats to and fro. With their frappes, smart devices, and bluetooth everything. That one right there with the blonde hair—I can see it from here—she ain’t got real teeth. Those things in her mouth, all bleached and glowing—real teeth ain’t supposed to look like that. I can see it from way up here. I can see straight into her mouth and see she’s full of shit.
And you. Don’ t think for a second that I’m not onto you. Oh, because I’ve been. Your mama and best friend might not know. But I do. I know what you’re choking on in the back of your throat. Trying to swallow it down like the rest of them. Go ahead keep trying ‘till it comes out your ears. Because it will. Like soft serve. And then you’ll lick it up and try to swallow it down and go walking the streets with the rest of them. Choking it back. But it’s alright. Your secret’s safe with me. I won’t blow your brains out for it. As long as you know you’re full of it, that’s good enough for me.
